I am Khushi Anand and here’s my first blog. I have taken very easy subject MUSIC AND CULTURE as it’s simple and you all are aware of it.

Music is a sequence and flow of rhythmic notes that please our inner self.  It is one of Arts and a part of culture, and culture is what people create in their social group, tribe or race.Culture is a social thing or a way of expressing stories, feelings, memories and values. Music is part of main culture as entertainment and communication. Culture comprises of all the good ways of living of people in a civilization. Well, culture consists of the moral values of group of persons.

Music helps to define who we are, creating our communal self-identity. Our musical likes and dislikes, to a great extent, are defined by the culture we identify with. The reason some people dislike classical music may not be because they dislike the music. It may be because they don’t identify with the culture associated with classical music. The same can be said of someone’s antipathy to country music or rap music or any other kind of music. Perhaps it is the culture they don’t relate to.

Because culture is such an important part of music, we can look at music from a cultural perspective as well as a musical perspective.

So, basically I want to say that Music is very important for culture as it’s a part of culture and also culture connects through music.
